Welcome to the Special Security Division
Of The Galactic Military Force
The Special Security Division is set in the Star Trek universe. Its purpose is to be the intelligence gathering and clearing house for the Federation. The SSD is a combination of a nation’s intelligence gathering, analysis, and dissimulation group (like the CIA, MI-6, and SVR), a nation’s internal security and investigation group (like the FBI, MI-5, and FSB), and finally the combined services that protect, defend, and escort dignitaries of state and foreign governments (like the Secret Service, FPA, and Queens Guard).
These three different agency types unite into one to make a complex, intricate, central security command whose business is to serve and protect along with gathering intelligence and dessiminate the information to the other branches of government.
The SSD is divided into 4 major departments, and several sub-departments, to insure the flow of information and preserve the clarity of efficiency. The 4 departments that make up the SSD are:
- SSD Central Command – Responsible for Leadership, Diplomacy, Organizational and Government Policy, and Support Services.
- SSD Gathering and Analysis Division – Responsible for Electronic Surveillance, Intelligence Gathering, Field Operations (i.e. Field Agents, Covert Operation, & Special Operations), and Dissimilation & Analysis.
- SSD Security Division – Responsible for internal security, criminal investigation and prosecution, Counter-intelligence/Counter Terrorism, specialized security for Head of State and Foreign Dignitaries.
- SSD Research and Development – Responsible for the research, development and creation of new & discovered technologies and weapon systems for the betterment of the SSD and the Galactic Military Force.
